The Good Eggs Lessons
We meet the Good Eggs and see how they help the new Egg, Benedict, adjust to their town. Benedict is not making friends easily, but the Eggs try to make him feel more comfortable by understanding his situation. He ends up trusting his new friends and gets a new outlook.
We find Benedict jumping to a wrong conclusion and almost ruining the class Halloween party. He assumes he was not invited to the party but he saw the invite list before it was finished. He took some negative action that upset the other Eggs.
We find Ms. Poach giving the class a "gratitude challenge." Benedict, as usual, is reluctant to take on the challenge and says he has nothing to be grateful for. However, Greggory ends up having a bike accident, and the Eggs use the situation to help Benedict find plenty of gratitude!
Christmas is approaching and Ms. Poach talks to the class about the importance of being a generous person. She emphasizes that giving things is important, but giving time is just as important. Benedict is once again reluctant, but Seggourney helps him find his generous side!
Reggie’s cousin, Peggy, comes to visit. She feels sad about her parent’s relationship and cannot focus on anything. Practice begins for Jack & the Beanstalk but she forgets to fasten the hooks of the beanstalk that Benedict is climbing!
Ms. Poach gives each Egg a crystal heart to commemorate their wonderful play performance and to show her love for them. Peggy loses her heart, which Benedict finds. He refuses to give it back to her until the Eggs show him the real meaning of love.
Peggy returns home to help work things out with her parents. But, Benedict has his own issues to resolve - he refuses to play on a baseball team with girls and a girl coach! He learns an important lesson in acceptance and realizes how wrong he was.
As Earth Day approaches, Ms. Poach challenges the Eggs to design a project that would help clean up the environment. The Eggs come up with a school-wide recycling project, but Benedict comes up with a project that nearly rushes his dog, Scrambler, to the pet hospital!
Coach Flo gives a pep talk about being a responsible baseball player. Benedict wants more responsibility to help him stay focused on the upcoming championship game, so he volunteers to water the flower garden after school each day.
Benedict gets a hard lesson in honesty as he tries to cut corners with his summer business plans and ends up hurting his friends. He has Peggy running part of his business, but she gets annoyed with his dishonesty and ends up leaving.
The Eggs enter the Albumen Fun Run contest in order to raise money for the children at the hospital. They train hard, but Benedict just cannot complete the mile. He ends up finding his confidence in an unlikely place. Peggy also finds confidence to deal with her situation at home.
The final episode of this first season, the Eggs go on their annual camping trip. Benedict tags along with Reggie’s family, but not before causing embarrassing and annoying problems. He gets the same treatment by some little Eggs at the campground, which causes him to realize his own behavior.
