Wrapping up the 2023-24 School Year

It has been such a wonderful and dynamic year across Michigan, and we have loved every minute of it. We’ve been able to connect with educators, learners, families, administrators, and community organizers at small and large events, during education conferences, at professional learning workshops, in our studios during content creation, on site for virtual field trips, virtually for meetings and watch parties, and so much more. Most recently, we brought together some of the educators we’ve been able to work with this year for a community building and storytelling event in Detroit. Check out a snapshot of the day in the video below and watch some of the powerful teacher stories on YouTube.

Summer is Here!

As we wrap up this school year and look ahead to summer, we are excited to announce our fourth year of summer programming, supported by Michigan Learning Channel and PBS KIDS resources, aimed at ensuring young people continue learning and engaging with their communities all summer long!

Summer Is Fun on MLC” is a free 8-week program that encourages kids to “Learn, Do, and Explore” with literacy and math lessons, hands-on science and fitness activities, career exploration, and virtual field trips. These resources are perfect for keeping preschool through 6th-grade students engaged in learning throughout the summer months.

If you are an educator looking for a fun addition to your school, library, or organization’s summer plans, Check out our Summer for Educators page for ideas on how to incorporate our program into your summer activities.

Whether you are working with young people at a school, camp, museum, or other public space – or you are supporting your own learners at home, you can download our free activity books to keep them engaged all summer long.

We offer three books full of activities, experiments, and more, organized by age group:

– Early Learners (Preschool – Kindergarten): 80 pages
– Lower Elementary (1st – 3rd Grade): 100 pages
– Upper Elementary (4th – 6th Grade): 80 pages
